Happy 2nd Birthday, Pounce!
It all started with a bit of encouragement and a big leap of faith. And then COVID hit. Wow, could I have had better timing?
The whispers of my soul were trying to get my attention for a few years. I had to get quiet. It was then that I heard what were once whispers, now had become very loud and clear. I could no longer ignore them. I had to take the plunge, and I am glad I did.
I’m not sure if you knew this about me – I am a love child created in the 1960s. My biological father, the late Christopher Kennedy, whom I only met twice, was an entrepreneur. He lived in Toronto, ON, and owned two record companies with his brother Leonard called Kennedy Records for 30 years. He then moved to Leamington, ON, where he owned and operated Ponds RV Park for 15 years. I guess I have some of my bio-dad’s genes. It makes me think…is it nature or is it nurture? Perhaps a bit of both.
I am not alone with my entrepreneurial initiatives, challenges, and adventures. I have had the chance to speak with a few individuals who created their own companies before and during our world pandemic. Some did it because they wanted to, and some did it because they had to.
Everyday words like ‘pivot’ have become the new buzzwords most often used by many expressing how we operate our daily businesses and life. I don’t need to tell you that our world as we once knew it has changed and continues to change.
It’s been almost two years. I am most grateful for my business and a position that I love in times of turbulent change! I am so happy that I have the chance to unleash my creativity with my words and share my deep-rooted desire to make a difference.
I am blessed to have some loving and supportive people in my life… You know who you are.
