The BUCKET List Adventure
In June, my gal pal Diane Baron and I took an unforgettable leap, crossing off a major bucket list item – visiting the Grand Canyon…by helicopter! The thrill of soaring over the breathtaking landscape was a life-altering moment we’ll cherish forever. Thank you, AJ Heaps from Maverick Helicopters, for ensuring a safe and an incredible experience.
Alright, please save the giggles for the end of what I am about to share with you.
As my birthday approaches this month, I can’t stop thinking about my bucket list. For those unfamiliar, a bucket list is a collection of dreams, goals, and experiences one hopes to achieve in a lifetime. It is often thought about more seriously as people approach significant life milestones or during times of reflection.
I have always loved the public spotlight in the work I do. I thrive on talking about fundraising and communications, making presentations, and engaging with audiences. Another thrilling item on my bucket list is to appear in a movie or commercial.
In July 2024, I had an exciting encounter with Jenn Johnson at Select Staffing’s Edmonton office. Her knowledge and professionalism were immensely impressive; she has a gentle spirit and is someone I immediately connected with.
During our meeting, I felt a rush of excitement as Jenn explained the criteria for becoming a movie extra. I mentioned that this was one of my bucket list items, and I was thrilled to learn that many people close to retirement or already retired are seeking fun, new experiences. Jenn and I discovered we had a lot in common: We both celebrate birthdays in September, look younger than our actual age, have three cats, and believe in the endless possibilities the universe offers!
I am registered and have a profile in their system, and I am eagerly awaiting the call to be a movie extra. The anticipation of this new adventure is exhilarating, and I wanted to share it with all of you. Who knows, maybe a producer will need a group of extras, and we could all end up in the same film!
We never know who we will meet. We meet everyone for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
Here’s to our September issue! Enjoy!
Pawsitively yours,
