November…The Month for Giving

With the many daily, weekly, monthly, and annual themes throughout the year, one stands out for fund development professionals and donors and that is the month of November.

National Philanthropy Day

Created by philanthropist Douglas Freeman of Orange County, California in the United States in 1986, National Philanthropy Day takes place annually throughout North and South America by the various Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) chapters during the second week in November to recognize and celebrate the many wonderful acts of generosity demonstrated by donors and volunteers to help make our world a better place to live in.

To learn more about this inspiring day, take three minutes to watch this video National Philanthropy Day | Association of Fundraising Professionals (afpglobal.org).

I hope you enjoy the video and it encourages you to give whatever you can whether it is a financial or in-kind donation, or to volunteer your time and expertise.
