Be Kind to Your Heart

Let’s face it; we are the wealthiest when we have our health. We focus on heart month in Canada during the shortest and coldest month of the year; yes, that’s February.
It is a month to bring awareness and connect with our hearts, not only with all the love Valentines Day can bring but also the importance of our physical heart health.

The Importance of Sleep

Can we ever get enough quality sleep?  I mean at least seven hours of quality sleep without any distractions.  For example,  having to get up and use the washroom, hear your partner snore, the furry family members jumping on the bed, in the bed, and doing the 3 am prance dance on your legs, stomach, or best yet, sit on your head and purr, but we love them anyway, right?

According to the Canadian Sleep Society, one of the best things we can do for our hearts is get a good night’s sleep because it gives our bodies the time to recharge and be ready for the next day.
More now than ever, we need to pay close attention to what our bodies are trying to tell us.

The Heart & Stroke Foundation has an excellent video demonstrating the signs  and symptoms of a stroke.  Take less than two minutes to have a look here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDhzCIi0_wA
